The reason so many batteries fail or melt down on the 600cc or 1000cc motorcycle engines is because the factory charging systems can put out too much or not enough voltage when charging the battery. Stock factory rectifiers vary greatly on the charging voltage output.

rectifier with 5 wires: 3 stator wires, and 2 wires that go directly to the battery
sealed connector, crimped onto the rectifier (rated at 46 amp!)
battery connectors, crimped onto the battery wires
connector for the engine side stator, uninstalled (User will need to crimp on.)

While this is not recommended, because it is unsealed, it does have the advantage of being able to clip right in to your factory engine side connector.
