MPI-KMD-15 Micro Sprint Steering Wheel

After extensive testing and design collaboration between MPI and Hyper Racing, we are very proud to announce the awesome MPI-KMD-15 Micro Sprint Steering Wheel, specifically for 600cc Micro Sprint racing. The KMD wheel also works great for Lightning Sprints, Dirt Circle Track and Karting applications.

Safety is always in the forefront of all MPI products. The inner structure has been engineered to deform under elevated impacts, absorbing the load and reducing the effect on the driver's upper body, offering an engineered safety advantage. The round shaped inner structure makes the holding of the wheel a natural feel for the driver. The inner foam is engineered to the highest vibration absorption rate in the industry.

The mix of carbon look material with strategic areas finished with an extreme grip carbon look covering material (MPI RG material) with MPI Orange™ crossed stitched technique increases driver hand grip, reduces fatigue, and facilitates holding the wheel one-handed. The MPI Orange™ markers help both driver and crew chief to get a visual reference of the steering wheel position.

Each wheel is individually serial numbered for traceability and comes complete with the MPI love and attention to detail and a light weight center pad.

WHY DO WE USE A U CHANNEL AND RIVETS FOR THE STRUCTURE?

Some companies like to weld their spokes to the outer tube. Why don’t we do it? A welded joint will not flex like our riveted joint will. On a steering wheel, we want the joint to flex under impact for safety. We could have cut some corners and welded our channel instead of creating a gig that precisely guides the rivet inserts. But we didn’t because we don’t think that is the best way to built a wheel.
