This heavy-duty clamp is designed to deliver serious clamping power where it matters most so you can help eliminate the rack box sliding on the front axle.

Why It’s Stronger

• Uses 5/16-24 ASTM A574 bolts (stronger than Grade 8)
• Upgraded from the 1/4-20 bolts used in the 16-527 clamp
• Four bolts deliver 20,880 lbs of clamping force compared to 11,440 lbs on the 16-527, that’s nearly double the clamping strength
• Two cone point ¼-28 set screws further secure the clamp into position

Optimized Steering Geometry

• Positions the rack box further from the front axle centerline
• Keeps steering rods more parallel to the front axle creating a more consistent steering ratio
• Designed for use with axle-mounted steering boxes 16-540, 16-500, 16-499, and 16-498

Pro Tip for Maximum Holding Power

• Apply anti-seize or heavy grease to the bolt threads. This reduces thread friction and increases effective clamping force without requiring additional torque.
