Cole Tinsley of Bon Terre, Missouri secured the $10,000 victory at the Milestone Winged Outlaw Nationals at the Port City Raceway, the biggest win of his career wing or non-wing, and the third straight year that a Hyper Racing driver has secured the victory in the event at Port City. Tinsley was preceded in wins by Steven Snyder Jr (2023), and Joe B. Miller (2022).
Unfortunately, rains came through the Tulsa, Oklahoma area and forced the postponement of Friday's prelim to Saturday, and the feature events to Sunday afternoon.
Saturday night, the only prelim night to be completed, saw a trio of Hyper drivers finishing inside the top six in the feature event, locking them into Saturday night’s feature and dash. Joe B. Miller came home on the podium in third, with new Hyper driver Chelby Hinton right behind him in fourth, with Cole Tinsley finishing in the sixth and final lock in spot. Other Hyper Chassis drivers making the feature event on Saturday night included Johnny Boland who came home 8th, PA representative Alec Quiggle in 9th, Colorado’s Scotty Milan 10th, and defending race winner Steven Snyder Jr in 13th.
Sunday’s dash went as well as possible for the Hyper Racing/Speedshack Performance drivers Cole Tinsley and Joe B. Miller who finished 1 & 2 and secured the front row for the feature event.
Come feature time, Tinsley and Miller were on rails at the front of the field, nose to tail battling for the feature event lead. While Tinsley and Miller battled for the race lead, other Hyper Racing drivers were putting on a show battling to the front of the field! Port City regular, Frank Flud was marching forward from his 13th starting spot, and Steven Snyder Jr, pounding the high side where nobody else was running, picking off cars left and right from 18th.
Try as he might, despite challenges from Joe B., and stout local Jeffrey Newell, Cole Tinsley went on to secure the $10,000 victory over Joe B. Miller. Tinsley, who works for Joe B. at his Speedshack Performance in Missouri, had just recently completed the build of the engine in his own car, and beat the boss with an impressive drive. Steven Snyder Jr’s run through the field ended with a fourth place run from 18th, earning hard charger honors. Frank Flud wound up 6th from 13th. Completing the Hyper Chassis drivers in the feature field were: Chelby Hinton in 9th, EVO/Hyper Driver from Pennsylvania Tommy Kunsman Jr, 10th from 17th, Johnny Boland 12th, Matt Car 13th, and Alec Quiggle 20th. In total, nine of the twenty four starters in the feature event were Hyper Racing drivers, with an impressive six of the top ten all in Hyper Racing 600 Sprint Chassis.
