The 2023 edition of the Hyper Racing 600 Speedweek once again saw a dominating effort during the week from not only Hyper Racing Chassis and customers, but also from the always prevalent EVO Fuel Injection.
2023 was more challenging than ever before with nearly 170 different drivers coming from near and far to compete in the week long series of events, which in 2023 all paid a minimum of $2,000 to win, with a $2,500 show at Action Track USA, and the return of a $10,000 finale event at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway (Lanco) on Saturday night.
The week started off with a whimper rather than a bang on Monday night, when severe and heavy rains struck the Greenwood Valley Action Tracks just after the completion of time trials. Stony Point, NY driver and Hyper Chassis pilot Damon Paul set quick time in Flight A, and overall quick time, while Hyper and EVO driver Steven Snyder Jr took the top spot in Flight B. The rest of the activity for the night was a wash, with Mother Nature for the win on Night 1.
On Tuesday, the series made its way to the Clinton County Speedway for the first ever non-wing Speedweek event at the venue. Chaplin, CT driver Zach Jurcik, a Hyper Chassis driver, set quick time of the evening, while Bethlehem, PA’s Tommy Kunsman Jr scored the first win of the week of 600 Speedweek, but also the first for Hyper Chassis and EVO Fuel Injection.
Next came a familiar stop to the high banks of Action Track USA at the Kutztown Fairgrounds, where a record 114 drivers entered the pit area to compete for only 26 starting spots. Among the 114 entrants was two time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch. Yet again Hyper Racing led the way in overall Quick Time with veteran driver Tim Buckwalter taking top honors. The wild feature event saw a battle right to the finish with Damon Paul securing his first win of the week, and the second straight for Hyper Chassis.
Thursday night was the second and final new venue of 2023 at Airport Speedway in New Castle, DE. Hyper Racing’s own Alex Ruppert set quick time of the evening over a field of 88 cars. Intense feature event action saw Zack Bealer steal the win away late in the race from NASCAR driver Sheldon Creed and pick up his first win of the 2023 Speedweek event schedule.
The ever present Linda’s Speedway was the Friday night destination again in 2023, where veterans reigned over the talented field of drivers. Long time micro sprint competitor Pat Bealer set quick time aboard his Hyper Chassis, EVO Fuel Injection entry. Multi time track champion, feature winner and Speedweek winner, Tommy Kunsman Jr scored his second win of the week, and second win for EVO Fuel Injection.
Saturday night at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway saw the fiercest action of all, with Hyper Racing and EVO Fuel Injection standing tall over the record finale field of 96 drivers. Deptford, NJ’s Christian Bruno, a former Speedweek champion, set quick time in time trials, and scored his biggest 600 Sprint win in a duel over Damon Paul and Kyle Spence to close out the 2023 600 Speedweek events.
After all was said and done, Lehighton, PA’s Zack Bealer secured the 2023 Hyper Racing 600 Speedweek, presented by Performance Electronics Championship! Zack, a long time Hyper customer, paired with veteran owners Gary and Donna Spotts to hold off Alex Ruppert late in the going to each earn their first Speedweek title in a dramatic fashion right to the end!

Speedweek would not be possible without the hard work by Nick Fillman. Nick takes the lead role in promoting this series and makes it look effortless, but staging this series successfully is a result of the preparation and planning he puts into it behind the scenes. Thanks Nick, for once again pulling off an extraordinary Speedweek that Hyper Racing is proud to put our name on.
