Fourteen-year-old Hyper Racing driver Haidyn Hansen, of North Platte, Nebraska picked up her first career Tulsa Shootout victory in the 2025 edition, leading wire to wire in the Restricted A-Class division as the lone Hyper Racing driver to secure a Golden Driller in 2025.
Hansen is a regular competitor in the midwest, scoring multiple victories across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. At the 2025 Shootout, Haidyn competed again in the Winged Restrictor division, and for the first time this season in the Winged A-Class division securing as many laps and as much track time as possible.
Come feature event time, Hansen was scheduled to start in the third place position behind the front row, but after an early race restart violation, the entirety of the front row was replaced with the second, leading to Hansen starting on the pole of the feature event. Once the initial green was thrown, Hansen took off and never looked back! Hansen held the lead and pulled away from veterans of the Restrictor division, and continued to prevail through a handful of late race restarts to score a dominating win in the Restrictor class!
Joining Hansen on the podium was fellow Hyper Racing Restricted driver Cash Lacombe who stormed from the 8th starting spot to finish in 3rd out of the F&M Performance camp in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Pennsylvania driver Chase Schott aboard one of six Jim Radney/Mike Austin owned rides put on an impressive drive as well, moving from 24th to 16th in a +8 run. Trouble befell Colorado’s Shyla Ernst who locked into the main on points, but was collected in an early race crash while inside the top ten resulting in a 23rd place finish.
Hansen, like Lacombe, has roots connected to Hyper Racing dealers as she has her cars maintained and dyno tested by racing veteran 600cc racer Johnny Boland of Hyper Racing Texas and Boland Speed & Performance who kept her on track all season long, and provided valuable at-track support during the entirety of the 2025 Tulsa Shootout!
