MPI-DM3-15-XL Steering Wheel
Details
The D model is the first dirt steering wheel that MPI ever produced. It was developed with the help of Donny Schatz; the most successful dirt racer in history.
The upgraded DM3-XL has new ergonomic, extra-large outer grip. This grip is made from textured polyurethane injected foam and is partially covered with Hypergrip material, then finished with a durable and sporty MPI Orange™ cross-stitched technique. The result is a firm, comfortable grip that reduces fatigue and allows for confident control, even during one-handed driving. The MPI difference continues with the updated spoke structure, featuring CNC-machined rounded edges for increased safety.
Each wheel is individually serial-numbered for traceability and comes complete with MPI’s signature attention to detail, along with a super-light center pad for added driver protection.

“MPI has revolutionized the dirt racing world with its new DS-15 wheel. It has great feel, awesome looks, and is definitely the safest wheel on the market. It has given me front end feel like never before!”
MPI DIFFERENCE: BEST GRIP & COMFORT FOR RACE DRIVERS
MPI shaped the wheel based on the form your hand takes when you make a fist. That is why the oval grip shape feels so steady and firm when you hold an MPI product.

WHY DO WE USE A U CHANNEL AND RIVETS FOR THE STRUCTURE?
Some companies like to weld their spokes to the outer tube. Why don’t we do it?A welded joint will not flex like our riveted joint will. On a steering wheel, we want the joint to flex under impact for safety. We could have cut some corners and welded our channel instead of creating a gig that precisely guides the rivet inserts. But we didn’t because we don’t think that is the best way to built a wheel.
