2020 Prepare to Win
 Saturday February 29th 9:00a.m.

Chassis Set-Up Seminar
Presented by Mike Dicely and the Hyper Racing Team

Written into the mission statement 25 years ago was that we wanted to educate our customers and to not have "secrets". To withhold knowledge from the world for selfish reasons is to waste a life. Knowledge and truth is not something we own, but a gift that has been shown to us and a responsibility to share.
The Setup Seminar is $25 per person and limited to the first 70 people to sign up. We will also offer it as pay per view live for $25. It will be available for free on YouTube for the whole world to see several months after the event is complete. Each year we update the info that we cover and unique questions always make the event very valuable for those attending.
Because we have limited room in the shop, the live viewing reserved seating of the seminar will be limited to the first 70 to sign up. The 70 live viewing reserved seats will be assigned. First to reserve will sit in the front and we will fill around the room until all seats are taken.

Seminar Schedule

This seminar will be held at the Hyper Racing Facility on Saturday, Feb 29th, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 with an hour break for lunch.

Topics include:
  • Blocking Your Chassis: How to do it, when to do it
  • Chain: Alignment, setting tension, maintenance, assembly
  • Gearing: Gear ratios, when to change gears
  • Scaling: Do I need to do it? How to properly scale your chassis and what to do with the data
  • Shocks: Shock valving, selection, setting gas pressures
  • Tires: Selection, construction, grooving
  • Assembly: Common assembly mistakes and other useful information
  • Maintenance: What and when to lube, replace, and adjust
  • Fuel Injection: How to properly take care of your fuel delivery and injection system
  • Driving: Should I go high or low?

Rethink Dirt
From the perspective of vehicle dynamics and the fundamental laws of physics, Mike will teach the truth behind why dirt track race cars do what they do. Learn what changes to make and when to make them along with the theory behind the facts. While this is not new information to the academic world, it is mind blowing information to the dirt track mentality.

  • Lateral and Longitudinal Traction: The difference between them and how to maximize the traction of each
  • Geometric and Elastic Weight Transfer: Why it matters how the weight transfers
  • Roll Couple: An understanding of which corner of the car the weight transfers to and why it makes the car loose or tight
  • Wings: Roll left, roll right, and the huge effect the wing has on the chassis
  • Roll & Pitch Centers: How wishbones, Jacob's ladders, panhard bars, and all chassis linkages affect chassis handling
  • Tires Offsets: Moving the tires in or out makes a huge change, but why?
  • Anti-Squat & Anti-Dive: What this is and is it a good or a bad thing?
  • Spring Rates: Stiffer or softer, which yields more traction?
  • Shocks: Dampening force and its effect on corner weights, which shocks to run where and why, an understanding of the full shock dampening curve and how to use it to your advantage.
  • Chassis Adjustments: What they really do
  • Questions?
