The 2026 edition of the Tulsa Shootout was one for the record books, not only for the astonishing number of entries the event attracted, but also for Hyper Racing and the drivers representing the brand.
The 41st Annual Tulsa Shootout marked the first time the event featured a 600cc Sprint manufacturer as the title sponsor, with Hyper Racing stepping into that role. Mike and Christy Dicely expanded their commitment to giving back to the 600 Sprint community with their largest and most influential event sponsorship to date, supporting the Mecca of Micros at the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Week-long action once again produced record-breaking counts of 2,000+ entries across all divisions, from the Junior Sprints to the Hyper Racing Wingless Outlaw class. Hyper Racing drivers opened the week on a strong note, collecting numerous heat race victories across multiple divisions. Scroll to the end of this article for the complete recap, including all Heat Race Winners and Feature Results.
When feature time arrived, a total of 32 Hyper Racing drivers were locked in to the A-Mains and continued their push, chasing not just a Tulsa Shootout win, but a Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout victory. Saturday night action began with the Stock Non-Wing division, where Jake Andreotti, Frank Flud, and Steven Snyder Jr. were all battling inside the top five before an unfortunate incident ended the winning chances for each. Taking advantage was longtime Hyper Racing driver Joe B. Miller, who charged from 19th to finish an impressive ninth. Other Hyper Racing drivers in the Stock Non-Wing feature included Trevor Cline (17th), Steven Snyder Jr. (18th), Mason Vincent (19th), Frank Flud (23rd), and Jake Andreotti (24th).
Next up was the Junior Sprint division, where 2025 KKM Challenge Junior Sprint Champion Gage Pio led the Hyper Racing contingent, starting third. When the race concluded, Pio finished fourth among the nation’s best, with fellow Hyper Racing driver Giselle Hicks finishing 11th. A tip of the cap in the Junior Sprint division goes to Preston Trautschold, a junior sprint rental driver for select events, who finished 12th in the LCQ among more than 130 competitors.
The Restricted A-Class feature showcased a field loaded with Hyper Racing drivers, highlighted by Pennsylvania native Brianna Snyder starting on the pole and leading the field to green. When the dust settled, fellow Pennsylvanian Chase Schott led Hyper Racing drivers with a seventh-place finish. Other Hyper Racing competitors included Clarkson Hagan (12th), Ashen Glazier (14th), Marek Pipe (16th), Brianna Snyder (23rd), and Collin Pruitt (24th).
The Winged Outlaw feature followed, with multiple Hyper Racing drivers advancing into the field. After 30 hair-raising laps and a battle that nearly came down to the final circuit between close friends, Steven Snyder Jr. charged from 12th to finish second. He was tied with five other drivers for a +10 advance but earned Hard Charger honors as the highest-finishing driver among them. Oklahoma’s Jeffery Newell joined Snyder Jr. on the podium in third with a strong run aboard a Hyper Racing entry owned by employee Johnny Boland. Rounding out the top ten for Hyper Racing were Tommy Kunsman Jr. in eighth and Frank Flud in tenth. Additional Hyper Racing finishers included Gunnar Pio (12th), Keegan Osantowski (15th), Reed Miller (17th), Colton Key (18th), Joey Amantea (20th), and Kyle Spence (23rd).
The Winged A-Class feature followed and initially appeared to produce another strong podium result for Frank Flud with a second-place finish. However, post-race inspection revealed the original winner was disqualified, awarding Flud the victory and his long-awaited Golden Driller. The win marked the final major division in which Flud had not previously claimed a Driller. Also representing Hyper Racing in the Winged A-Class field were North Carolina’s Payton Johnson (17th) and Cole Schroeder (21st).
The night concluded with the Hyper Racing Non-Wing Outlaw feature, where Hyper Racing drivers once again showed speed but came up just short of another Golden Driller. Jeffery Newell, driving a Johnny Boland-owned Hyper Racing entry, battled hard while trying to reel in the leader, ultimately finishing second to earn his second podium of the week. Veteran Kyle Spence impressed with a +9 charge to fourth, while Steven Snyder Jr. advanced quickly early before settling into seventh with a +12 run. Frank Flud finished ninth, followed by Jake Andreotti (14th), James Roselli (20th), and Trevor Cline (24th) to complete the Hyper Racing contingent.
Earning a Golden Driller during the week, the Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout also marked a significant milestone for the brand as it continues to grow and evolve in an ever-changing and expanding industry. One thing remains certain: Hyper Racing, along with its dedicated customers and drivers, will continue to improve, strive for excellence, and return to the Tulsa Expo Center ready to compete once again for Golden Drillers.
