NMMA Nationals Results
The Hyper Team made it back safe from the NMMA Nationals race in Sweet Springs, MO. It was a very good experience. I recommend it for anybody who wants to expand their horizons. In the four solid days of racing you will learn a lot about how to make your car fast. You will lift your blinders off to see how the rest of the nation races. You will be challenged by some of the best racers in the nation. The officials did a good job to get the entire race completed in a timely and organized manner. Hyper Chassis won three out of the six main events. Chris Snyder won the Singles (250cc 2-stroke), AJ Michael won the B class (125cc 2-stroke), and I won the Multi class (600 Open). Mandy Schlegel won the 250cc preliminary feature on Friday. Chip Geib won a 125cc heat race and Gary Garrison won the 125 trophy dash. I ran my 2002 GSX-R600 on our new fuel injection setup to shatter the track record during time trials and also win the preliminary feature on the high side flat out on Friday night. Thanks to everyone at the track who provided genuine hospitality the whole weekend. It was great to meet all of our customers that we only talk to on the phone. We had a great time.
Easterns Results
I had great results, setting fast time in the A-class and 2nd fast time in the Multi class. I led 40 laps in the A-class before getting tangled with a lapped car. I was too aggressive in lapped traffic. I took the lead on lap 5 of the Multi class and I would not make the same mistake again and went on for the win. Congratulations to Michael Severs who won the B-class main. It was his fifth time to ever drive his Hyper. Special thanks to Jim Shelton who let me drive his brand new Hyper in the Multi class, also Butch Frantz and his family for their help and support.
